Why I Went Public

Well, actually, being fat isn’t exactly a private issue.

I’ve been in denial for a few years about my weight gain, and although I feel I still look great, I can feel the toll it has taken on my body. My knees ache, I’m short of breathe, and entirely too sluggish for a 27 year old!

Oh, did I mention I’m getting married? 🙂 I’m too excited to open a new chapter of my life with the love of my life! And I’ve decided I don’t want to start this new chapter with old weight.  So I’m turning to the public to help me in my weight loss journey by posting my pictures of my progress. This is incredibly hard for me to do, but I know with some support it can be attained. I’m hoping to hear others stories, struggles and strides with their own weight loss and get some advice to help me and hopefully tons others.

You will see it all, every loss, and the inevitable gains, inch by inch.

I’m pretty positive about this effort and know there are people out there who will open their hearts and minds to lend to my success.

So, Public, thanks in advance!

Hey! Good luck on your weight loss journey and on finding the perfect dress!! The only words of advise I have is whatever lessons you learn about healthy eating before the wedding, make sure you keep it up after the wedding! I made the mistake of losing so much weight in the build up to my wedding and in the last two years I have put on soooo much weight and I’m now struggling to get it off!

Oh, I can tell thats going to be a huge struggle for me as well. Sometimes its so discouraging b/c even though I’m trying to lose the weight I have now, I realize how far I have to go!! It’s too early to tell, but I’m really hoping to make this a lifestyle rather than event change!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for commenting on my blog! My reasons for going public are very much the same. I knew I was going to lose it for good, so why be ashamed of it? It’s also and awesome way to keep yourself accountable by letting others in on your successes and failures.
I’ve had so many people tell me how it’s helped motivate them and how I truly must have guts to post my actual weight and measurements, and pictures to prove.
It’s somewhat humiliating, but it’s totally worth it!
I’ll be checking back in regularly on here, and hopefully you’ll do the same. It never hurts to have buddies who are with you in this fight!
    Good luck!

Very humiliating! I can’t bring myself to put my face on here quite yet, but maybe one day! But its kind of a revelation once you see the photos on the screen, because I see myself everyday but the photos don’t lie! Kudos to you!

Thanks for commenting on my blog! You are doing so well – and you, like myself, are turning our lives around so we can enjoy every moment of what we have ahead of us. You’re so wise at such a young age to do this for YOU. I wish I could go back to my twenty-something-year-old self and do what I’m doing now….so keep it up! You won’t regret it. Everytime I fall down, I brush off and get back up and do better….it’s a journey and it’s never easy, but it’ll pay off! It already is for you! Happy New Year and God Bless!

I started blogging for exactly the same reason as you, I’ve found it as really helped. It looks like you have been doing really well, good on you! Happy new year and keep going!

Hey there! I saw your comment on my Day 1 post and had to respond! I have done the diet once before and it was very successful! I am doing it again to lose that ‘last bit’ which I’m sure you understand! The first time around I lost 56.5′ overall and 30lbs in 60 total days. So far I’m down 14lbs in 11 days. The diet corrects your hypothalamus, adrenal and pituitary glands because over years of eating unhealthy, the way our body stores fat is altered from how it is designed to be. This is where the ‘drops’ you take on the diet release stored body fat while eating a very strict diet. I’m not sure what your timeline is for the wedding but this is something that works! Let me know if you’d like the website 🙂
