Tick Tock Tuesdays

1 Mar

Well hellooooo there Public!

Hope I haven’t been gone too long, sure feels like it! A million things have gone on including being out of town all last week so that’s why no posts but I’m back and here to post my weekly results! I still get measured for my dress this Saturday and I have vowed to not act a damn fool when they tell me what size I need to order. After all, I go back in June for another fitting, so I’m thinking of that as a second chance to maybe really seriously get serious this time? I know what you’re interested in so here goes!:

Stomach 36"

Hips 46"

Thigh 25"

So there it is! Don’t mind my nails, I swear I painted the things on Sunday and after I showered on Monday they were halfway nicked off. It’s just been downhill from there with those nails.

It’s been insane what’s been going on. I still haven’t kicked up my workouts, but I’ve been eating better. Mostly because after last weeks out of town trip I indulged. I mean, I did in-dulge. It was on the companies dime, and there was room service 🙂 So about this app, I entered in my weight and how much I want to lose and then it calculates a plan for me based on that. I have a set number of calories each day and I try my best not to go over. So far, I’ve been over one day, and 400 calories under another, so it kind of evens out (??) I’m set up to lose 1 lb a week. We’ll see how it goes! My fiance is threatening to cancel my gym membership if I don’t get active again. I don’t respond well to threats 🙂

Anywho, I’m more interested in what you guys have been up to, so I’m going to spend some time surfing around to my favorite blogs. I need to figure out how to get a blogroll on here so I can shout some of you out, but I haven’t found it on my widgets menu. Anyone else have this theme and know how to do it?

I Said YES!!!

12 Dec

So yesterday was the big day. I tried on some wedding gowns! I have to say, the experience wasn’t as horrific as I would’ve imagined it! I went in knowing the gown I wanted to try on. I selected four other gowns to try on (even though they didn’t stand a chance) and saved my #1 choice, for last. I was able to successfully step into most of the gowns, but those with a shorter zipper, I had to pull over my head because of my wide hips.

The first few gowns were so-so, but I have to say I completely adore silk taffeta. It is such a classy and luxurious fabric! I’m only 5’5″, so the one shoulder gown was too much for my short frame and kind of overtook me. The best gowns were the sleeveless. When we first walked in the salon my dress to be was on the mannequin, and it was instant love 🙂

My mother, father, and little brother (14 years) came along. We were greeted by a very nice and fun consultant (thank goodness!) and started to look through their selections. At this point, my dad and brother left! I think they drove around and found a Target or something : / Fast forward to my dress: All I can say is that it is the Justin Alexander gown I’ve been eyeing online for a few weeks now. My brother and dad reemerged just in time to see me in the gown and to give their thumbs up. We even chose a veil, so that’s another thing crossed off the list. I can’t believe I have 11 more months to dream about that dress every night until I can actually wear it!!

The best thing about the gown is I look and feel great in it NOW! If I lost a few pounds I would look even more amazing, but it was important to find something I am completely comfortable and confident in now, just worse case scenario. The dress is perfect, fun and gives me an incredible waist!! There are pearls and bling in the right places! Ah, I’m in love again!! : ) I haven’t ordered the gown just yet, but I scheduled an appointment for March 5th of next year so that I can order the gown in whatever size I am then. I started off by telling the consultant “You may or may not have heard this before, but can I not order the size yet??” Then we shared a laugh over how rich she would be if she got a dollar for every bride who did the same thing!!

Of course I can’t post pics of the gown just yet, but stay tuned Public! I will host my unveil shortly! : ) Of course, if you want to take a stab at which one it is, just post the link in a comment below. I’m in the holiday mood and just may send an eGift card to the winner! : )

Charting my way to success..

29 Nov

My wedding dress doesn’t care about my weight. In fact, I really don’t care too much about it.

What matters are the inches! Thus my weekly obsession with the issue. I

My mother is coming into town in a few weeks and she insisted we take advantage and do as much bridal stuff as possible. Sooo I have my first bridal shopping trip on 12/11! How exciting! 🙂 I’ve been looking around at a few designers and I’m still a sucker for Priscilla of Boston, but the one I love is too far out of my budget. : / So I’ve been looking and I found Justin Alexander. Love, love, love this designer! His dresses are gorgeous! I mean, I’m already in love with a few of his designs, and I feel some kind of way about putting the one I love up here before I actually try it on. So just go check his dresses out when you have a chance and I’ll reveal my dress later 🙂

I found a website that has a lot of the dress size charts for a few designers, so right now I’m sitting at an 18 or 20 dress size, depending on the designer. Ok..deep breathe. I’m so glad I researched this before stepping into a salon. I would’ve fallen out for sure, or just cried all over the dress as I tried to pry it on..leaking eyeshadow and mascara on the inside forcing me to pay for a dress I can’t fit that I’ve stained with my tears! Woo sah!

So here is the size chart I’m going to work around the next couple of months..pending the dress looks fantastic on me at the size that I am now because face it…there probably isn’t going to be a vast difference, but I certainly hope to be more toned! I’m teetering between 18 and 20 (ok, I’m dead at 20 lol–I keep forgetting I can’t lie to you guys as you have picture proof!), and hope to be a 12 or 14 by the time I place an order.

Wedding Dress Hopeful!

OR I could go and try the dress on next week and look utterly ridiculous and back to square one!

I’m so anxious!! : /

I’m Back!!

27 Oct

Yay! 🙂

We closed on the house on Thursday and started the moving in process. We’ve gotten all the big boxes unpacked and now its all about getting organized and putting all the pieces of our new life together. I have to say, the buying a house process is NOT for the weak. I’m extremely happy we went through the process when we did, just another testament of what we can do and get through together.

We are first time homebuyers…funny how some people we were working with through this process seemed to forget! Long story short, we ended up spending about $2,500 more at closing than we anticipated. So there went my dress money!!!!! Just when I got over the tears and convinced myself the investment in the home far outweighs the investment in a dress I will wear for 6 hours…Priscilla of Boston (dream dress headquarters) sent me an eMail advertising their sample sale event going on the next day!! *le sigh*

On to things I now have control over…

I love my new neighborhood and there is a park in walking distance –really far walking 🙂 Since we don’t have an apartment gym anymore, majority of our workouts are going to be outside. I’ve been looking online to get some outdoor exercise ideas and thought of no better source to look than the Public!!

So listen up Public. I’m back, and I’m ready to get this business in full effect. Send me some outdoor workout ideas and I’ll start them up tonight!!

This Isn’t Going to be so Easy…

10 Oct

So I’m starting to think.

It’s really pretty easy if you think about it, just putting one foot in front of the other. I did okay last week. Worked out twice, which is twice more than normal.

Today we decided to walk to the store, instead of driving. It gave us two purposes, working out and taking care of shopping for some essentials. The best part of it was, I had no choice but to continue. Being just over a mile away from home there wasn’t an alternative to get on the machine for 4 minutes, and jump off because I didn’t feel like it any longer. If I wanted to get back home…I’d have to walk there.

Should really do that more often.

Oh, and at the butt of it all, is the wedding planning. When does this get fun?? Venue is almost selected, and chances are, it’s going to be an adults only reception. There is already some rumbling from the future in-laws on the “troubles” this will cause…and I’m not entirely sure if that matters to me or not at this point. There will be an open bar, and a night time reception. Since when do those two spell “kid friendly”??

I’m pretty sure stress gain is not conducive to weight loss…
