Times a Tickin’

17 Oct

It’s been a while since my last post but I’m down to 25 days till the wedding!! I’ve tried (not really that hard) this past year to diet and exercise, to no avail really. I guess I didn’t take it seriously until we got our engagement pics done. When the proofs came back, I was horrified! I have yet to show anyone outside my family those pictures. I don’t even recognize myself. A re-do is definitely in order!!

Then I started thinking, is this what it has come to?? Do I really want to see my wedding pictures in the same light?? I’ve been reading up a lot on HCG and decided it’s extreme, but people seem to really think it works, so I went ahead and gave it a shot about 26 days ago.

Since then I’ve lost 12.8 lbs and some inches (pics below) While I was VERY craving (not starving) I did cheat on the diet twice. But my tastes have changed and the cheating wasn’t even worth it!! (except for the margaritas…those are always worth it!) Now I’m in maintenance phase for the next three weeks, so the true test comes while I can slowly start adding fats and oils to my diet. I’m also supposed increase my calorie intake, which I’m finding hard to do as I’ve grown accustomed to the 500 calories. I decided to not go longer than 26 days as I really want to stabilize prior to my honeymoon, but I definitely would LOVE to keep losing the weight! Anyway, you guys look at my pics below and judge for yourselves. I have nothing to sell here, but it worked for me. Would I do it again? Hopefully not. I hope to take the lessons I’ve learned these last few weeks and apply it lifelong. Even if I fall off, I’m not sure if I’d do HCG again, or take the slower route, but honestly who knows? It has been the only thing that has worked, but it is also the only thing I’ve really put effort in to. The “normal” route was working, albeit a little slow for my tastes!

Stay encouraged!!

Today, I got anxious

15 Feb

Not because of the stress of the wedding, or the fact I don’t have a direct supervisor anymore and tons of work projects are in limbo, I got anxious when I saw the 5-day forecast. High 70s all week. Public, it’s starting to warm up around these parts.

Yes, it’s an awesome time given the storm we endured last week but it’s also a reminder that boots and heavy jackets will get packed up for another 7 or so months, and the tanks and shorts will arise again.

Ah, there has been a change in my mood lately and it’s noticeable to those close around me. The reality of the wedding being 8 months away, and getting sized in less than a month is really starting to hit home. YES! I said this journey isn’t about an event or a dress BUT darn it, I’m starting to feel the pressure!! (This is the part where someone hands me a paper bag and tells me to “Just breathe”!)

Besides NOT working out for the last few days, I guess my strategy is going to be to pout and stress the weight off as I’m not really asserting any other alternatives here people!!!

Woo sah! 🙂

Long time coming

9 Feb

I went a week without posting results and I have to say it felt like a lifetime! We have another winter storm today so I’ll be “working from home” and since I’m not really doing that, I thought I’d post to let the Public know I’m still here and still (getting) serious about my weight loss. I challenged myself to run 5 times this week for 5 minutes. Due to the weather outside, it’s no surprise I haven’t been anywhere. So far I only ran on Monday, but I plan on doing my YouTube TaeBo video today to make up for it. I’ve managed to eat pretty well and make some wiser decisions. When me and the hubby to be go out to eat, we share a plate instead of ordering two huge entrees, and when I go out with friends I ordered some really good salads (p.s. Hard Rock Cafe has the best cobb salad!!) I get measured for my dress in a few weeks, so I’m still sort of anxious about that, but I’ll let you know more about that after the results. So onto my pictures, followed by my monthly update.

Stomach 35.5"

Hips 45.5"

Thigh 25.5"

I’ve actually lost since the last time I posted, which I’m not too shocked as I have been making better food choices despite my decreased activity. Here are my monthly results to date:

So far, so good!!

I think my thighs are starting to level out, while my stomach and hips are steady losing inches. Again, I’d love to wake up tomorrow and be at my goal, but I know it’s not going to happen that way. But what about my dress? I can hear you Public. I’m going to answer. When I started this journey, I was a solid size 22 in Justin Alexander bridal gowns. Now I’m teetering between a 16 or 18. I hope the chart I have is updated, but if you follow me on Twitter, help me reach out to the designers page so I can get the most up to date chart! I can’t say what I hope the ultimate number will be, but I’m damn proud to be out of the 20’s!! I only like the 20’s for my age, not my clothing size in ANY form of apparel!

So there you have it Public! I hope to make my rounds to a few of your pages today and see what you’ve been up to! Drop a line if you stop by 🙂

Wow!

5 Feb

So quite some time has past since I’ve last posted!! Things are psycho at work and this weather has been very creative. Last week it was 70 degrees, this week, my city is hosting the Super Bowl and the city has pretty much been shut down all week! No school, rolling blackouts, and below freezing weather. Guess it goes without saying I’ve been under a blanket about all week and not moved much!

I do promise to be back on Tuesday with the latest results and this week of inactivity really scares me to post..but it must be done! 🙂

Chao Public!

Who does this??

25 Jan

Before I post my mediocre stats for the week, I will start off by saying I am STILL SORE from the 5k I ran on Sunday. First of all, I woke up at 6 a.m. ON A SUNDAY to participate in this activity. So I feel I have a few “you can’t judge me” days I can roll on for now. I ran the first 1.6 miles nonstop, then did some interval running. I completed the race in about 43 minutes, but official times haven’t been posted yet. You can bet when they do, I will share them here!

So on to the results:

Stomach 36"

46 3/4"

Thigh 25 1/2"

So my thighs and butt have decided to expand this week. But I’m going to account that to muscle gain from the race. haha. You’d think I’d get tired of these less than stellar photo results, but I think I’m starting to get used to it, and well. THAT IS NOT OKAY!

The worst part of it is, and this goes to my post title, you tell me who runs a blog diary of their weight loss efforts, takes photos and measurements in skin tight clothing, uploads the photos, and just before sitting down to type a post..runs downstairs to make a small coffee cup of caramel ice cream with caramel swirls and little itty bitty chocolate cups filled with even more caramel!

For shame!

Ugh…what’s next Public??
