Times a Tickin’

It’s been a while since my last post but I’m down to 25 days till the wedding!! I’ve tried (not really that hard) this past year to diet and exercise, to no avail really. I guess I didn’t take it seriously until we got our engagement pics done. When the proofs came back, I was horrified! I have yet to show anyone outside my family those pictures. I don’t even recognize myself. A re-do is definitely in order!!

Then I started thinking, is this what it has come to?? Do I really want to see my wedding pictures in the same light?? I’ve been reading up a lot on HCG and decided it’s extreme, but people seem to really think it works, so I went ahead and gave it a shot about 26 days ago.

Since then I’ve lost 12.8 lbs and some inches (pics below) While I was VERY craving (not starving) I did cheat on the diet twice. But my tastes have changed and the cheating wasn’t even worth it!! (except for the margaritas…those are always worth it!) Now I’m in maintenance phase for the next three weeks, so the true test comes while I can slowly start adding fats and oils to my diet. I’m also supposed increase my calorie intake, which I’m finding hard to do as I’ve grown accustomed to the 500 calories. I decided to not go longer than 26 days as I really want to stabilize prior to my honeymoon, but I definitely would LOVE to keep losing the weight! Anyway, you guys look at my pics below and judge for yourselves. I have nothing to sell here, but it worked for me. Would I do it again? Hopefully not. I hope to take the lessons I’ve learned these last few weeks and apply it lifelong. Even if I fall off, I’m not sure if I’d do HCG again, or take the slower route, but honestly who knows? It has been the only thing that has worked, but it is also the only thing I’ve really put effort in to. The “normal” route was working, albeit a little slow for my tastes!

So its been a year on this journey and I can’t say I am pleased. I only have myself to blame as I haven’t been consistent with anything. I just under two months to my wedding. We took our engagement pictures yesterday and I am DREADING seeing the proofs. For some odd reason I wore a satin shirt, can you say shiny purple pig???

So in my last ditch effort I’ve decided to try HCG. It took a few weeks to come in, but I’m going to start tomorrow. I’m finally fed up enough and have decided that food is not the answer to whatever void (boredom, hungry, boredom) I’m trying to fill. I can do without it right? 🙂

For real this time.

Wow! It’s been a while since I have posted!

I haven’t been active online, but I’ve still been going through ups and downs with my weight loss journey. I’ve tried a few diets, considered a few quick fixes, and held my index finger over the “buy” button of a few tempting Groupon lipo deals.

But alas, I have stuck to my au natural route and have not strayed 🙂 I started on the Fat Smash Diet a few months ago and actually saw some lbs drop which was a miracle b/c even back in December when I worked out, I didn’t lose any lbs, just inches.

Now I realize the importance of diet and how critical it is to health and weight loss. I’m at 185 lbs now and I haven’t been in this bracket since last March of 2010. My goal is to be at least 160 by November, but I realize I need to amp up my exercise and consistent with my diet.

The Fat Smash introduced me to eating fresh foods and it’s crazy to see our freezer is practically empty but our fruits and veggies are packing up the fridge. I haven’t been totally consistent, I’ve binged a few times–done some traveling with my job which means oodles of free eats I just can’t refuse.

It’s been SUCH a long and arduous task, but I look forward to updating you on the status the next few weeks 🙂 Just looking at my last post lets me know how far I’ve come. I’ve lost an additional two inches from my waist and one from my hips. I know if I were consistent it would be much more. But of course…..

I love a great deal! Especially when its something I’m in the market for, and not just anything I walk by and see a red sticker on and feel I have to grab. I like a deal thats timely and relevant, that’s why I subscribe to a daily deal service that sends me coupons on deals around my city. A majority of them are for food, but I think I’m past the Try Something New = New Place to Stuff My Face, so a majority of them are hugely ignored.

Until I got one I couldn’t help but not delete and let linger in my inbox for a few hours. There is a new procedure that is non invasive and laser beams all the fat cells from your body. It’s like having your own personal Scotty who will beam up your fat into oblivion. I was intrigued. I believe the procedure is typically a few sessions and they were offering one session for under $100 with a guarantee to permanently lose 1-2 inches. For anyone who watches Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim had this procedure done in the comfort of her home…all while chomping down a slice of pizza.

So I’m doing this thing now where I consult with my fiance on all major decisions and purchases. I guess it’s like a partnership..no one makes a deal without clueing in the other. 🙂 I’m like, hey, there is this great deal and what would otherwise cost you (notice the “You”) a fortune is only going to cost you a fraction of that if we buy within the next 21 hours! Yayy!!

I had a much warmer reception. He wasn’t as excited as I was, and ultimately the e-mail (and FABULOUS deal) was deleted from my inbox.

Since I’m an avid shopper I know a great deal like that comes around more than once. I just hope that next time for me, the deal is on!

Well hellooooo there Public!

Hope I haven’t been gone too long, sure feels like it! A million things have gone on including being out of town all last week so that’s why no posts but I’m back and here to post my weekly results! I still get measured for my dress this Saturday and I have vowed to not act a damn fool when they tell me what size I need to order. After all, I go back in June for another fitting, so I’m thinking of that as a second chance to maybe really seriously get serious this time? I know what you’re interested in so here goes!:

So there it is! Don’t mind my nails, I swear I painted the things on Sunday and after I showered on Monday they were halfway nicked off. It’s just been downhill from there with those nails.

It’s been insane what’s been going on. I still haven’t kicked up my workouts, but I’ve been eating better. Mostly because after last weeks out of town trip I indulged. I mean, I did in-dulge. It was on the companies dime, and there was room service 🙂 So about this app, I entered in my weight and how much I want to lose and then it calculates a plan for me based on that. I have a set number of calories each day and I try my best not to go over. So far, I’ve been over one day, and 400 calories under another, so it kind of evens out (??) I’m set up to lose 1 lb a week. We’ll see how it goes! My fiance is threatening to cancel my gym membership if I don’t get active again. I don’t respond well to threats 🙂

Anywho, I’m more interested in what you guys have been up to, so I’m going to spend some time surfing around to my favorite blogs. I need to figure out how to get a blogroll on here so I can shout some of you out, but I haven’t found it on my widgets menu. Anyone else have this theme and know how to do it?
